Dr. Assaf Dekel – Orthopedic Surgeon
Graduate of the Hebrew University from Jerusalem, class of 1998, Dr Dekel is a certified orthopedic surgeon for over 10 years.
His main focus is on:
- Sports, cartilage and osteoarthritis injuries around the knee
- Hip osteoarthritis
- Painful shoulders due to rotator cuff disease
In recent years, Dr Dekel focuses on minimal invasive procedures. He is the inventor of the ORTHOSPACE device for non-reparable cuff tears, which was successfully implanted in over 20,000 shoulders. In a 10-15 minute minimal invasive arthroscopic procedure, it eliminates the need for a reverse total shoulder surgery.
Dr Dekel spends much of his time lecturing and teaching this technique around the globe, specifically in Germany, England, Switzerland, Italy, USA, India, China and Russia.
Currently, after studying the technique in England and the USA, he is developing and implementing a new procedure for knee pain, called GENICULAR BLOCK.
Using injections and radio frequency, it targets the pain nerves around the knee, and eliminates the need for a knee replacement surgery.
